c. 275-215BC during the long and reign of Greek ruler, HEIRON II, this Bronze coin features the head of the Greek God POSEIDON on one side with a Trident Head and Dolphin on the reverse.
A homage to the famous aquatic God, befitting the Island of Sicily.
Syracuse was an independent Greek city-state, long ruled by Heiron and later became a Roman town, thus this coin was in the final years of its Greek rule.
Exquisitely presented to secure integrity of the coin, it is framed with the famous image of Poseidon at the Trevi Fountain. An incredible item of Ancient History.
